Twilight Masquerade

The mysterious land of Kitakami opens its doors for all the Trainers! With it, new and exciting Pokémon: Ogerpon ex makes an appearance with 4 different versions depending on the Mask it’s wearing, Sinistcha ex makes its debut with a fun card, the powerful Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex makes a strong entrance with a unique design and Dragapult ex is here to break the Meta wide open. All of these cards and more, will arrive with Scarlet & Violet: Twilight Masquerade.

The latest Pokémon Trading Card Game set features over 200 cards including 6 new and classic ACE SPEC cards, 7 new Pokémon ex, 7 new Tera Pokémon ex, 21 Illustration rare Pokémon and Supporters and 6 rare gold cards! We are excited to finally get our hands in Dragapult ex, a Pokémon that does it all! Dragapult has a great damage output with 200 damage to the Active Pokémon for a measly 2 energy (Fire and Psychic), but, on top of that, you get to place 6 damage counters on your opponent’s Benched Pokémon. That’s safe from Manaphy’s Wave Veil ability! Dragapult ex is a stage 2 Pokémon, so consistency is key. That’s where Drakloak’s Reconnaissance Raid ability comes into play, which basically gives you an Acro Bike like ability, allowing you to see the top 2 cards from your deck, place 1 in your hand and send the other to the bottom of the deck. That 1 card may be the difference between drawing what you need or getting bricked. Include cards like Buddy Buddy Puffin, which is getting a new GOLD version in this set, to grab your Dreepy and the new ACE Spec, Hyper Aroma, which allows you to search for up to 3 Stage 1 Pokémon, to grab your Darkloak; and you got yourself an incredibly consistent and damage effective deck that will shake up the Meta as we know it.

But Dragapult ex is not alone, in Twilight Masquerade we get a bunch of new fun decks you can play. The Festival Grounds deck features Thwakey and Applin’s new evolution, Dipplin! The latter’s ability, Festival Lead, allows it to use its attack Do the Wave twice as long as the new Stadium card, Festival Grounds, is in play. Magcargo ex is here with a fun attack mechanic. Magcargo’s Ground Burn does 140 damage and both you and your opponent discard the top card of your deck, doing 140 damage for each basic energy discarded in this way. Use Team Star Grunt to take an energy from your Opponent’s active Pokémon and put it on top and use the new Morpeko’s Snack Search ability to take a look at the top card of your deck to ensure you do massive damage! Everyone’s favorite Kalos starter is back to its bench sniping shenanigans with Greninja ex. This is a stage 2 deck so use Buddy Buddy Puffin and the new Froakie’s ability to fill your bench. Evolve into Greninja ex and use its attack Ninja Blade to deal a decent 170 damage to the active while searching your deck for any one card. If you go for Rare Candy, you can chain up your Greninja ex every turn. And with its second attack, Duplicates Barrage, you can do 120 damage to 2 of your opponent’s Pokémon while having to discard 2 energy from the Active. Just as Radiant Greninja but stronger!

There are many tales to come from Kitakami, will we see a new deck that topples Charizard ex as the reigning champion in the Meta? Get your Pokémon TCG Live codes now!
