It’s a Blizzard of New Decks
What’s up, Po Town readers? I’m back with another Evolving Skies-themed article, and this one is going to focus on the new Suicune V (Evolving Skies) card! I know many players are hyped about this one, but many people don’t know where to start off! After many deck theorying, play testing, and advice from my friends, I have three great Suicune V concepts to share with you! These Pokemon online decks all seem like they can take down the next Late Night Series or Chill TCG Series Event, so be prepared to test them! And if you need any of the cards to build these decks, you’re in the right place! PoTown Store offers a large selection of PTCGO codes, including Evolving Skies, so be sure to check it out! That being said, let’s learn more about our Fleet-Footed friend!
Understanding Suicune
I read Suicune V at first, and I wasn’t a fan, but that's because I’m usually the worst at speed reading through new cards and missing information. Fleet-Footed is a bonus Ability - we aren’t basing any deck around it, but drawing an extra card per turn is a great option to have! Blizzard Rondo is where this card really shines because you do a lot of damage very quickly! For the mere cost of Water Energy and Colorless Energy, you can easily pull off100 - 200 damage ASAP, which is criminally underrated. You can play Echoing Horn (Chilling Reign) to increase their Bench size, increase Blizzard Rondo’s damage output, and bring back weaker Pokemon like Dedenne-GX (Unbroken Bonds). This attack can be powered up quickly with Melony (Chilling Reign), Galarian Moltres V (Chilling Reign) + Energy Switch (Sword and Shield), or by manually attaching two Energy. As I’ll demonstrate in three radically different decks, Suicune V is extremely versatile and one of the best cards in Evolving Skies.
Suicune V Toolbox
Toolbox decks are some of my favorite concepts because I love having an answer to everything - it makes me feel like I’m on top of my game! Suicune V is one of the attacking vessels in this deck and can easily get powered up by Melony or Galarian Moltres V + Energy Switch. The main idea here is to choose a Pokemon to focus on depending on your matchup, choose an advantageous type, and start attacking. Suicune V is efficient, but it might not be the best against Lightning type Pokemon. Similarly, Galarian Moltres V requires more Energy, but it could be your best bet against a Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX (Chilling Reign) deck! Galarian Zapdos V (Chilling Reign) is a great tech against Eternatus VMAX (Darkness Ablaze), and Arceus & Dialga & Palkia-GX (Cosmic Eclipse) seems like it can help out against single Prize Card decks. Let’s check out this list.

Suicune V / Ludicolo
While the main focus here is on Suicune V using Blizzard Rondo, the side strategy is quite different! Ludicolo (Evolving Skies) allows you to increase your damage output by 100 for each Enthusiastic Dance Ability you use, which can really add up. It also fills the utility niche of being Benched Pokemon fodder and works with other cool attackers like Hoopa (Unified Minds). The goal is to carefully decide how much damage you need to hit, Bench that many Pokemon, and drop down Ludicolo when you need an extra boost! This deck seems incredibly refreshing and could seriously put in some work! Let’s peep my list.

Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX / Suicune V
Lastly, I’ve decided to show how Suicune V can be utilized as a tech card in a previously existing deck since it can be utilized in many different concepts. This is a typical looking Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX (Chilling Reign) deck that uses Suicune as a backup attacker. You can force your opponent into Knocking Out a VMAX, a Suicune V, and then another VMAX. It’s cute, efficient, and works great with the previously existing Melony engine! A quick Blizzard Rondo or even using Fleet-Footed after an OHKO can be a game winning strategy! Let’s see how this list works.

Keep it Cool!
Well, that’s what I have for Suicune V pokemon online decks right now, but I’m sure players will find unique ways to continuously explore this card! Each of the above decks are ready to play at your next Pokemon TCG Online event, like my own Late Night Series Event, and they have a great chance at winning! The best part is that these concepts will be mostly transferable to our Post Rotation format and likely see the play at the top tables then too! I look forward to seeing players try out these decks, add their own unique spin to each deck, and Blizzard Rondo their way to victory! And again, if you need any PTCGO codes, you are here already, feel free to pick some up at PoTown Store to complete your decks! Thanks for reading, and happy testing!
