How’s it going, Po Town readers? I’ve been theorying a bunch of new Standard Pokemon decks in the newTeam Up to Chilling Reign PTCGO format, and I’ve selected a handful of top decks to share in this article today! All of these lists are a combination of my own thoughts and Japanese winning concepts from their events! The goal of this article is to share some of these top decks for you to try and learn more about our Pokemon TCG Online metagame. If you need any cards to prepare for this event or you need Pokemon TCG Online codes, PoTown Store is a great place to pick them up! Most of these concepts are extremely early builds, but they allow you to have excellent starting points for most new archetypes, let’s check out these Pokemon decks!
Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX
Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX (Chilling Reign) is one of the most hyped Pokemon decks, and it marks the first time this Pokemon has appeared in the TCG. The goal of this Pokemon deck is to balance your attack choices between Ride of the High King and Max Lance to attack your opponent’s Pokemon appropriately. Melony (Chilling Reign) acts as a pseudo-Welder (Unbroken Bonds) for Water-type Pokemon giving this deck the Energy acceleration it needs to succeed. Inteleon (Sword and Shield) finds its way into this deck to search for many setup cards and Path to the Peak (Chilling Reign) to shut off Rule Box Pokemon. There are plenty of cool combinations that lay within this deck, and Ice Rider Calyrex is poised to be the BEST Water-type pokemon deck in format once this set is released. Let’s check out my list.

Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX
Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX (Chilling Reign) is galloping into our Pokemon TCG metagame at great speed because the card seems amazing! Plenty of players have compared this new Pokemon to Zoroark-GX (Shining Legends) and Malamar (Forbidden Light), which leads me to believe this card has to be successful. The goal here is simple, use Underworld Door to power up your Benched Psychic Pokemon and choose the right one for the job. Maybe you need to spread damage counters to get around Altaria (Champions Path)? Power up Shadow Rider Calyrex V (Chilling Reign)! Maybe you want to disrupt your opponent's hand in an attempt to last another turn in the game… Trevenant & Dusknoir-GX (Sun and Moon Promo) can certainly combo Night Watch with Marnie (Sword and Shield). Did I mention this Pokemon deck can use Mewtwo & Mew-GX (Unified Minds) to copy other GX Pokemon too? When it comes to picking a competitive Pokemon Online deck, you always want to have plenty of options because you never know what your opponent is going to throw your way. So let’s dash right into this list!

Blaziken VMAX / Zeraora V
Blaziken VMAX (Chilling Reign) might not seem like much at first, but it's a solid way to accelerate Energy to your Rapid Strike Pokemon. That's where Zeraora V (Chilling Reign) comes in. The whole strategy revolves around using Blaziken VMAX’s Max Blaze attack to power up Zeraora V so you can use Cross Fit easily. Since Blaziken VMAX is a Rapid Strike Pokemon, you can snipe the Bench with Cross Fit, which makes this Pokemon Online deck unique. Passimian (Chilling Reign) boosts that Cross Fit snipe damage for an extra 30 damage which can OHKO Crobat V (Darkness Ablaze), Dedenne-GX (Unbroken Bonds), and Eldegoss V (Champions Path) on your opponents Bench. I decided to wrap this within a Jirachi (Team Up) engine to make the deck more consistent, which works well with your need to get Blaziken VMAX to the Bench to attack with Zeraora V. Let’s check out this list!
