Alola trainers! Welcome back to the PoTown Store Blog! The 2023 season is about to hit full stride, even though we already had some events happen in the US, Spain and Brasil, we are finally going to see the full extent of the impact of the new Lost Origin set at tournaments. We have already seen Pokemon Online decks shift completely towards using the new cards, as they really do bring a lot to deck building and the metagame. If you need any PTCGO codes for your own testing or collection, you are in the right place! The PoTown store is one of the best places to pick up cards for the Pokemon TCG Online game.
One of those impactful cards is Kyurem VMAX! Much to my dismay, VMAXs are still being released, and Kyurem VMAX is very, very powerful. Its Max Frost attack starts at 120 damage and deals 50 more for every Water Energy you choose to discard, without limit! So even though the card shares similar traits to Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX, Kyurem VMAX is an upgrade in every way.

How does the deck work?
The unlimited damage output of Max Frost synergizes really well with the Glaciated World Ability by helping you power up, and of course we have the Primate Wisdom Oranguru from Sword and Shield set to rearrange our topdeck and ensure we get that Water at the top.
The key damage numbers for Max Frost to hit are the following:
- 3 Energy discarded - 270 damage (Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR, Darkrai VSTAR and all basic Pokemon V)
- 3 Energy discarded + Choice Belt - 300 damage (all Pokemon VSTAR)
- 4 Energy discarded - 320 damage (Mew VMAX and all Pokemon VSTAR with Big Charm attached)
- 4 Energy discard + Choice Belt - 350 damage (all Pokemon VMAX without Big Charm)
- 5 Energy - 370 damage (every single legal Pokemon card ever printed)
As you can see, this damage output is nothing to scoff at!
Combining with Kyurem VMAX is, of course, Palkia VSTAR, offering the amazing Star Portal Ability to help repower up Kyurem VMAX after it has exhausted its energies and offer great damage potential with Subspace Swell.
Finally, we have double Empoleon V to help us in shutting down the Comfey-based Lost Zone engine decks, such as Giratina VSTAR and Lost Box, as by having two in play, they can’t even get out of it with a Path to the Peak. Radiant Greninja can also add to the deck's offensive options, and the best part is you can attack with it in back-to-back attacks thanks to both Palkia and Kyurem’s Abilities potentially powering it up!
Supporters wise, we have the full Water gym leader theme with Irida, Melony and Nessa in the deck, as they let us get Energy into play, search for pieces we need or recover key Pokemon and Energy, respectively. These great Water-themed supporters end up being more useful than the normal ones like Professor’s Research and Marnie.
Complimenting the Supporters, we have a Capacious Bucket to help us find precious Energy, along with Training Court and Energy Retrieval to help recover the discarded ones.
Battle VIP Pass, Quick Ball, Ultra Ball and Evolution Incense help us to search for the right Pokemon for the right situation, which really helps complement the search for Irida.
Finally, we have a couple of Switching options with Air Balloon and Switch, whilst we have Choice Belt to help bolster the damage output of our attackers. Lost Vacuum is a last touch of disruption to the deck to remove Big Charms or Tool Jammers, or a pesky Path to the Peak limiting our great Abilities at any point.
Conclusion
It’s still a bit early to determine specific matchups and %’s as the meta hasn’t really settled yet. However, this deck has been doing really well in Pokemon TCG Online tournaments and is certainly one of the most powerful Pokemon online decks to come out of the Lost Origin set, so we will surely see it pop up at the upcoming tournaments in October. If you'd like to practice with this deck, building it online with Pokemon TCG Online codes shouldn’t be that difficult, especially with the soon-to-come special Palkia VSTAR box! I’ve personally had a ton of success with this deck and have run into a lot of interesting scenarios where every Energy counts, and I get to attach up to 6 Energy in a single turn to get the key back-to-back OHKOs on unsuspecting opponents! If you need any cards to build this deck, consider picking up some codes right here at the PoTown store! Instant email delivery, 24/7, and a large selection of PTCGO codes. Thanks so much for reading my newest article, and best of luck with your games!
